Talent Corp Sector Focused Career Fair (SFCF) by UiTM, 2013

It's funny how graduation can sound so exciting yet scary at the same time. Take a moment to think about this: since we were kids, we always had the road plan ahead for us, whether we like it or not.

From primary to secondary, to foundation/diploma and finally degree. It has always been a smooth road all this while with the only stress was to get good grades (and maybe a girlfriend). But once you're done with tertiary studies, one thought comes in mind: "what's next?"

Suddenly it's a huge blur in front of you, like a fog that just blind your eyes. You panic, because you have no idea where to go. Yes, I have a Degree certificate, but where can that take me to? There are so many companies out there, which one should I pick? Most importantly, am I ready for the working life?

You see, choosing a company is ultimately the most important factor that will determine your whole life. The people you meet, the things you learn and the culture you'll be exposed to will shaped your personality into someone different from who you are today.

But fret not, young Padawan, because Talent Corp is here to help you guys!

I attended this amazing fair last week at UiTM, Shah Alam called the Sector Focused Career Fair (SFCF), where the main objective of this fair was to educate the public (especially students) on the choices of available career paths in the 11 (National Key Economic Areas or NKEAs) sectors: Oil & Gas, Electronics & Electrical, IT, Telecommunication, Biotechnology, Finance, Accounting, Healthcare, Tourism, FMCG & Education.

Upon entering the hall, I was greeted by over 40 top companies, providing brochures and career talks on the job prospect and future advancements. It was like Education Fair all over again, but this time it was a seriously important Career Fair where I'll have to consider every job descriptions carefully to see which one suits me.

The SFCF was a 2 day event which includes Career Talks and Couch Corner Slot. The Career Talks is a platform developed for the young generation to engage with prominent industry leaders while the Couch Corner slot was designed for the visitors, especially students, to interact with the companies in a relaxed atmosphere. 

I really loved the Career Talks as I think that the most crucial way to find out how much you like an industry is to talk to someone who's already involved in it. They shared a lot of case studies with us and the challenges/criss they faced before which gave me a very good insight on what to expect before entering the industry.

I'm sure many fresh graduates and students will find this feature very useful, there's even a Q & A session where you get to ask them any questions you have in mind!

Overall, I had a great time learning about my future career prospects, and I managed to apply for a few positions there! *fingers crossed*

If you're a fresh graduate or a student, I'm sure you'd love it too. Be sure to bring extra CVs just in case you want to apply for more than one company!

HOLY AVICII - GOD of EDM

So the other day I was browsing through We Love Asia website and saw this poster:

HOLY SHIT was exactly what I shouted in my mind.

I've been a huge fan of Avicii every since I heard his song "I Could Be The One" on radio. Yup, I admit I wasn't one of the early adopter (was listening to mainstream EDM lol) but eventually I got so hooked on his mixs that I'm listening to his songs everyday!

I mean who's stage name is as cool as the name Avicii (ok besides Daft Punk lol). Did you know that his DJ name is derived from the Buddhist term Avici, which means the lowest level of hell? So deep brah.

3. It's the end of the year and well, #YOLO!

After watching Avicii's "I Could Be The One", I don't want to regret missing out on this epic rave and be "too late" (you'll only get it if you watch the MV till the end!) :P

Also, this rave will definitely be the most exciting one for me as (if I win) I'll bring my cousin who's also a hardcore Avicii fans! Time to get crazy!

4. Tired of YouTube mixs

Don't get me wrong on that title, but I really want to hear the REAL mix by Avicii himself as he plays all his epic songs in one session! A lot of people has been saying how his song is going towards the country genre, but that's the challenge man.

Combining country + EDM is like combining french fries with vanilla ice cream. Both totally separate, but when mixed together, IT'S TOTALLY DELICIOUS EARGASM!

5. Because Avicii is AMA Favourite EDM Artist of the Year

Not even Zedd's Clarity can stand against Avicii's godlike music of "Wake Me Up".

He push aside Calvin Harris, Zedd and Daft Punk by winning the America's Music Award for Favourite EDM Artist of the Year!

You deserve it bro, now I hope to win a tickets to watch the man himself spin it LIVE!

Good morning, sunshine!

So I'm back at the blogging world again.

This is probably my 5th attempt at blogging (the first from Friendster, and the most recently on WordPress), and I hope it doesn't die in less than 10 postings.

Had a really great run with WordPress (love how it made me feel tech savvy) but eventually came back to Blogger.com all thanks to Nuffnang MY.

So yeah, I'm here just so I can run some ads to earn some money to feed my skinny body. So blog-walkers, do a goodwill today and contribute by clicking on my ads! Instant karma point +1 if  you clicked :)

I hope I can have at least one update a week, with the main focus on using this platform to channel my thoughts on new movies.

You see, I love to dissect and analyze movies on my free time, which is probably why my favourite movie is still Inception as it has a lot of space for discussion (such as, what is Cobb's real totem?).
